On the official Incredible Dream YouTube channel, you can find “Kinfire Playthrough,” a series of six 20-odd-minute videos where well-known internet personalities learn the game with you by playing the first several quests.

If you haven’t watched the series yet, or you want a refresher, here’s what’s been happening on “Kinfire Playthrough”:

Episode 6: The Scruffy Man in the Lonely Lantern and his dubious vibes.

After mopping up what’s left of the bandits, our intrepid Seekers decide to spend the final episode playing a sidequest! Quest 17: The Stranger.

They head to the local tavern (and singles bar, probably), the Lonely Lantern, chasing rumors of a wandering stranger in town. The barkeep, Ros, points them in the direction of an old hunters’ trail east of town.

The party strikes up a lively debate over whether to also talk to the Scruffy Man in the corner. Felicia is in favor, but she is still haunted by the consequences of the crimes she did the last time she made a decision, so she doesn’t insist.

The Seekers follow the hidden trail away from town until they reach a mysterious pile of dead townsfolk, apparently poisoned. Never the type to miss a loot opportunity, they scavenge a Copper Treasure Pack from the corpses.

They stumble into combat with a pair of spore-emitting tree beasts. The stranger they were looking for leaps out from hiding to provide supporting fire, but for want of a specific Memory card, the party is caught by surprise at the top of the encounter. Realizing that talking to Scruffy Man could have saved them, they lament their past mistakes.

After an epic combat encounter composed primarily of fart jokes and “Deathcap for Grootie” puns, the party convenes with their new friend, the eponymous Stranger: a purple, four-armed hamster man who definitely lifts. He doesn’t seem to share any languages with any of our heroes, but several rounds of charades manage to convince him to come back to the safety of the town and the care of Rani, the priestess who acted as the quest-giver.
